Impact crushers can efficiently reduce material at a ratio of up to 12:1 which is much higher than something like a jaw or cone crusher. So these small impact crushers should work circles around a similarly sized jaw crusher.

When you really want to increase your production rate, an impact crusher can work around 2x faster with a primary crusher in front of it (depending on your material). You can use something like a large jaw crusher to break up larger pieces and absorb more of the wear from things like rebar. This will save you on maintenance and allow you to make more material, faster!
